Life of Choice
"I discovered I always have choices and sometimes it’s only a choice of attitude." -Judith M. Knowlton
All of us come to this realization at some point in life. Anyone that has chosen to see life for what it truly is, a series of moments and opportunities to better our lives and those around us.
In the workplace, in our families, in public, in worship and undeniably in private. Attitude will be the thing that can hold you back when all of opportunity is laid at your feet. With out a good attitude, you will never pick up or sustain the opportunities provided. Those that work to see their attitude reflected in the mirror, will soon learn that it does start within.
From that point forward when opportunity does present itself, you will be better prepared to take hold of it. You will be prepared to hold onto this opportunity, making it great for yourself and those around you.
Choose to have this type of attitude, one that will send you to greater things. You do have a choice in life. You can live it in the most miserable way, never understanding that life is so much more. Or you can choose to have a life that is wonderful, whether it be for 50 years or 100 years or more...choose a life that will bring enjoyment.

Release Your Potential
"There are exactly as many special occasions in life as we choose to celebrate." ~Robert Brault
In his book, Attitude 101: What Every Leader Needs to Know
This means that our level of success is the result of how far you have come in achieving your own potential. Everyone has this potential but many of us fail to believe in that potential. Many of us allow others to dictate what that potential is. And many times their perception of your potential is far below what it truly can be.
So if you want to make the changes to try and achieve a greater potential. To achieve a greater attitude in life that can bring about greater opportunity. Then here are four principles that Mr. Maxwell provides to help you do just that.
1. Concentrate on one main goal - nobody ever reached their potential by scattering themselves in twenty directions. Reaching your potential requires focus.
2. Concentrate on continual improvement - commitment to continual improvement is the key to reaching your potential and to being successful.
3. Forget the past - many people have overcome great odds to achieve great things. No matter what you've faced in the past, you have the potential to overcome it.
4. Focus on the future - your potential lies ahead of you, whether you're eight, eighteen, forty-eight or eighty. You still have room to improve yourself. You can become better tomorrow than you are today.
He ends with a Spanish proverb which says, "He who does not look ahead remains behind." As I try to tell folks, move forward, strive to better your own condition in life and hey, enjoy your life.

A Daily Tree
"The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The next best time is now." ~Chinese Proverb
Spread your life out to reach others. Spring is always upon us and new relationships can begin. Watch and see how your life moves out in so many directions. Touching others and giving joy to their lives. Coming back to life once again, each and every day.
“You are the tree; Your branches have blossomed forth. From the very small and subtle, You have become huge and manifest.” -Sri Guru Granth Sahib

Why Not Las Vegas?
"When all think alike, then no one is thinking." -Walter Lippman
I was asked recently about our C3 Americas Conference for North and South America being held in Las Vegas.
"Why Las Vegas?"
"Why not Las Vegas?"
It may seem like an odd question to be asked. Every year, every month, and every week there is a conference of some sort going on in Las Vegas. The gambling and entertainment mecca of the world. Some might disagree about that, but it is certainly one of the most identified with it.
The question stems though from the fact that the C3 Americas Conference is a church affiliated conference. That is right, a church conference in Las Vegas. Were we crazy or worse yet heavily imbibed in something when the decision was made?
My answer to the question and raised eyebrow is really meant to make the person asking think. Think of why other venues would be any better suited. A person would say "Well, you know, it is Las Vegas, Sin City. That isn't a proper place for a church conference!"
The conference could have been most anywhere, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Boston, or right here in Atlanta. One could make an argument for or against any one of those locations. But a church conference?
Sorry to disappoint you folks, but we are ordinary people just like you and others. We get up in the morning, get the kids off to school, get irritated by the rush hour traffic and work hard each and every day. We watch many of the same television and news programs you do. We are just like you, trying to do what is right in life, and trying to achieve a best life for our family and ourself.
So again, "Why not Las Vegas?"
When we do the same thing over and over, we reap the same thing over and over. But when we step out and challenge our thoughts and perceptions, that is where change begins to occur. The possibilities of what life has for us abound in great quantity within our mind. Yet that is where they remain if we do nothing.
Turning your dreams into actions is when the excitement starts. There are all those questions asked such as "why mess with what works", or better yet "why Las Vegas?" My point here is that there will be the naysayers trying to put out the flame of passion you have lit. Your change is happening and movement has begun to take hold of your life.
Of course, you are like everyone else out there. You get up in the morning, get the kids off to school, get irritated by the rush hour traffic and work hard each and every day. You watch many of the same television and news programs everyone else does. You are just like them, trying to do what is right in life, and trying to achieve a best life for your family and yourself.
The difference is that you are shaking things up from the ordinary. The ordinary has gotten you to the point of doing the same things over and over. But it is in the stepping out and doing something different that will move you forward in life. Yes, that is the difference and is the real answer behind "Why not Las Vegas?"
