Music To Our Heart

If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music.
Albert Einstein

Volkswagen created a site called The Fun Theory dedicated to the thought that something as simple as fun is the easiest way to change people’s behavior for the better.

In this video, what if would take the stairs instead of the escalator or elevator and feel better? It is something we often tell ourselves but few of us follow the advice to so. What if walking the stairs were more fun than riding an escalator?

What would happen?

Notice how many people took the stairs as opposed to the escalator.

If we hear the music in all that we do, what other great things could we do besides just taking the stairs?

Our Lives Are Songs

By Thomas Gibbons

Our lives are songs:
God writes the words,
And we set them to music at leisure;
And the song is sad, or the song is glad,
As we choose to fashion the measure.

We must write the song
Whatever the words,
Whatever its rhyme or meter;
And if it is sad, we must make it glad,
And if sweet, we must make it sweeter.

Stay inspired my friends!

Music Changes

"Music can change the world because it can change people." -Bono

How big is music in your life? Do you tap your toes to the beat of some favorite band? Is there a tune playing in your mind at the present time? Are the songs you hear saying something to you?

I am sure we have all experienced at one time or another the power music had on us. A song that moved you to tears or lifted you in joyful praise of life. The variations that exist are as diverse as there are humans. In fact music can come from nature itself.

The rustling of tree leaves, a babbling brook or playful chirping of a bird. There is a cadence to most everything that goes on around us. Music exists in most every part of life; that is if we listen for it.

Music can also move us to do something great, it can move us to love, it can move us to do far greater things in our life. The sweet sound that tells us we can do more. The melodic rhythm that carrys us to a far better life.

Let the music change you. Let the music carry you to greatness. Listen to the music and see how it can change your life. Then take your song and go change the world. Make it a better place with the sounds you make, with the toe tapping greatness of your own life.

Music the Smelly Way

"The discovery of song and the creation of musical instruments both owed their origin to a human impulse which lies much deeper than conscious intention:  the need for rhythm in life… the need is a deep one, transcending thought, and disregarded at our peril." ~Richard Baker

Today I'd like to direct your attention to my son's blog called Smelly Dog Music. It is a blog that takes you from one artist to the next like a potluck dinner filled with so many different tastes.

I must admit that I always thought I knew my music but he has done me one better for which I'm proud. Music has always meant a lot to me in my life and it appears that craze has blossomed in him.

The point I have about music is that it can add so much to your life. Don't be put off by the name of the website, Smelly Dog Music. Its safe, nothing to cringe or be afraid to look at. See it as an adventure for your mind, your soul, and your well being. It is another door to step through on your journey of life.

There is so much out there to learn and experience. Things that will guide you to a great life. Music is one of those guide posts along the way, luring you to your destination, motivating you to continue the journey.

Take a step through the door to Smelly Dog Music and see what new things you find. Pass along the music, the website, your thoughts to other people. Pretty soon, you may find others humming the same tune as you are.

Steve Deal Band

Today I'm doing a bit of promoting for a friend of mine, Steve Deal. He is a very talented song writer. His music genre is Christian music, but very free flowing and lifts your spirits greatly.

A review of his music explained that "Steve grew up in the small country town of Cootamundra in rural Australia. He learned to play the drums and started playing in a garage band at the age of 15. While backpacking around the USA in 1988 at the age 18, Steve picked up his first guitar and immediately began writing songs. Steve honed his guitar playing skills in clubs around Sydney but mostly by playing in a band in church every week for 10 years. Currently, Steve works as a music director at Christian city church in Atlanta and has several albums to his credit."

The following video is an example of his talent.

If interested in his music, find free downloads through the link or search for Steve Deal Band on Google or your favorite search engine. Support a 'starving artist' as they always say.
