Lifting The Sun

The last sunrise of 2015 presented itself to me as I flew home to Atlanta from Boston yesterday (12/31/2015). It was a slow rising daybreak which suddenly splashed a brilliant light exposing a wondrous blue sky.

Reminding us that our world will be here long after any of us.

The magnificence of the universe carries forth beyond our short lives. For the short time we are here, should we try to live in more peace, more kindness, more lovingness? For all we fight over, nature continues to shine brilliantly.

The same sun and blue sky will rise on the first day of 2016. It will rise at the start of each new day long after I am gone.

It will shine for all generations after me.

May the sun rise in peace among us rather than in fury.

May the days always shine for you.

And may each sunrise keep you inspired.

Floodwaters in Life

There have been quite a few reports of heavy rain in many parts of the country lately. Gully washers, deluge, monsoon, torrent, sheets and drencher kinds of rain. So much rain you would think Noah is building another boat.

It could be easy for one to get depressed over the amount of wet and destructive results when it rains so much. And to be sure, there have been deaths and property loss. The news reports are overwhelming at times in the misery and pain that ...

... we run and hide our heads.

Life can be full of rain such as unexpected bills, relationship misunderstandings, illness or a multitude of other possibilities. There can be so many negative things going on in life it becomes all believe in.

... yet the sun shines behind those clouds.

We can look for the things in life which do shine brightly. The smile of a child, the warm handshake of a friend, a cup of coffee or any one of many things. And in those moments of sunshine ...

... we can slip into the shade and sip our lemonade.

So let it rain, for the sun remains behind the clouds and will once again shine. There are days of happiness in store for you. The rain comes and the rain goes in our life. The flowers will bloom, the grass will grow and your wet clothes will dry.

... that when it rains and shines, it's just a state of mind?

A New Sun

What is happening in your life right now, this very instance? Are you trying to dig yourself out of a hole financially, relationship or any one of a number of circumstances? Is the darkness of your situation covering you with a blanket of despair?

Each of us go through many of the calamities one reads or hears about every day. There is a parking ticket under the windshield wiper after an especially tough customer meeting. It might be a broken arm after slipping on the icy steps at home. You find mounting medical bills with no pleasant options of overcoming either.

The daily things which happen to lots of people, of all genders, race and social status. Yes, all of us go through things and many of us allow the darkness to encase us in its shadow.

Yet the light of a rising sun can bring hope to our life. The warm rays of light upon our face can renew us and chase away the darkness if we allow it to.

Never give up on the possibilities which exist. The darkness will fade and great things will come upon your life. A warm and brilliant day awaits you.
