As It Turns Out

"Pile up too many tomorrows and you’ll find that you have collected nothing but a bunch of empty yesterdays." - The Music Man

I believe that each of us as individuals have the ability to impact and inspire others. It can be a kind word, a simple gesture or helping in a major way, a person get through a troubling time. But many times we wonder if the timing is right to get involved.

It turns out that now is the perfect time.

It is interesting that one can find wisdom and inspiration from many unexpected sources. I've always believed that each of us as individuals have the ability to impact and inspire others. Throughout my day, I look for small bits of inspiration which push me to be a better person.

One such bit is a saying I heard quite some time ago. It is tied to a piece of old artwork that belongs to singer Lucinda Williams and on it says "as it turns out, now is the moment you've been waiting for." I have been searching for an image of that artwork to no avail to find the context of words and art together. It could be the artwork is not something I am meant to find.

Maybe we are meant to only find meaning in the words.

So without having first hand knowledge of the artwork or background to the quote, I can only decide for myself what the words mean. For me it is the idea that we are always waiting for things to happen for us. We wait for the time to be just right, the right place, the right conditions. The waiting is what prevents us from accomplishing our goals.

To make change or move forward in life, "as it turns out, now is that moment you've been waiting for." Go now and make movement in your life.

And stay inspired my friends.

Time to Accomplish

Don't say you don't have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.” -H. Jackson Brown, Jr

You can start now or at any time to accomplish great things. Paint a picture, write a poem for a loved one, build something new or voice an opinion. Go ahead, you have the time to accomplish great things in your life.

Stay inspired my friends!

Get On With It

"To be always intending to make a new and better life but never to find time to set about it is as...to put off eating and drinking and sleeping from one day to the next until you're dead." -Og Mandino

Most every day you get up and place yourself back into the daily routine. You get up, get dressed, get breakfast and get on the road to work. You fall in line with the other cars going to work, pulling into the parking lot and waiting in line for the elevator.

You tell yourself that there is more you want to do in life. You want to volunteer helping the needy. You want to learn a better job skill. You want to meet someone that you can share your life with. You want, you want, and you want.

But than you get back in line for the elevator, wait to pull out of the parking lot, fall in line with the other cars going home. You feed the dog, you make some dinner, watch some television, get dressed for bed and fall asleep. All in an effort to do it all over again the next day.

You intend to turn your wants into reality, but you do the same thing over and over again. You place yourself on a treadmill going slow somedays, running like mad the next, but never getting anywhere. You see the same thing over and over on the treadmill.

Maybe it is time to actually get up and do something. Maybe its time to get on with it. Get up and go after those things you want in life. No more waiting, no more planning, go now!

What Time Is It?

Busy couple of days here and travelling tonight so I may not get to write for another day or so. I recently accepted a new job position within my company. Its a different kind of job but similar in nature to what I do now. I have been somewhat hard pressed to explain why I am making this change.

There are plenty of reasons why and of course the new challenges that I'll be faced with are exciting. A musical group from the 70's called YES wrote a song called Time and Word that has a lyric in it that tends to explain it. The lyric goes, "There's a time and the time is now and it's right for me, It's right for me, and the time is now."

The time is right for me and I'm making movement in my life, I'm making a change. It is the same thing I've said many times to many of you. To change your life, you need to create movement. There will never be a better time then now to do so. For me, that time has come.
